As many of you may know – my son just celebrated his first birthday! In the weeks prior to his party, I kept getting the same question from our guests “what does Easton need?”. Every time someone asked me this question I had no idea how to answer – because really, what does a one year old need?
He doesn’t have many interests other than food and touching things he’s not supposed to – vents, garbage cans, the dog bowls. And he doesn’t need any clothes, he has all of his brothers hand me downs. So what to get a one year old that will help him learn and explore.
I have put together a list of 7 toys that would be perfect for any one year olds first birthday – whether you’re guest or the parents!
Little Tikes Car – this is the perfect toy if your little one loves to be outdoors exploring – my son love to push it around the yard and be pushed as well! The one we purchased has a board in the bottom so they can’t fall through!
Fisher Price Farm – It’s awesome for teaching them the different animals and noises from the farm.
Sensory Balls – something super cheap yet so much fun for them to learn the different textures – perfect for motor development!
Water + Sand Table – although you may want to skip on the sand for now, a water table is perfect for little babes to splash play with water for tons of outdoor fun! We play in ours everyday!
Touch and Feel Books – again a super cheap gift if you’re on a budget – but something that is so awesome for learning different shapes, animals, noises and textures.
Counting + Singing Toys – any toy that sings or counts is an awesome learning toy – it’s amazing how their little minds pick up on things – the next thing you know they will be counting to five along with the toy!
Musical Instruments – it’s so adorable watching your baby learn and play – musical instruments are a perfect sensory toy that both of you can have fun with!
Whatever you pick out the child will love – even if it’s just the box it came in 😉 hah!
